We have received the prestigious SAPERE Gold P4C Award – only the third school in the country to do so. This was awarded for successfully making our pupils think, question and reason.
Teachers’ work in Philosophy for Children (P4C) has prompted SAPERE, an internationally recognised educational charity, to make the school an ambassador.
This approach to teaching develops children’s ability to think, communicate and reason as well as teaching the children to ask their own philosophical questions and then answer them while the teacher supports them.
The Healthy Schools programme supports the links between health, behaviour and achievement; it is about creating healthy and happy children who are ready to learn. To achieve this award, the school had to meet 62 criteria, including aspects of healthy eating, emotional health, child protection, improving the environment, and citizenship.
Award to celebrate our commitment to PE and sport. Awarded as at least 90% of pupils across the school were doing at least 2 hours high quality PE and school sport a week.
